London summer is very different to actual summer, fact. For starters, it doesn’t come around very often (two days a year, okay okay, five at most) and it’s generally not very warm. Not only that but everyone knows that summer clothes in a city are very different to the clothes you wear on holiday. Right? Wrong… I love finding ways to eek that little bit more value from my London summer wear, because let’s face it you’re wearing it a handful of times a year if not. And so layering what might seem like slightly more formal items over swimwear as a cover up is a great way to dress down what might seem a little too smart for the beach. Case in point are these gorgeous navy blue and white spotted wide leg trousers. On the one hand city appropriate – you could tuck in a white tee and accessorise with white trainers for off duty or even wear them to work with a shirt and heels. On the other hand, the perfect cover up for après beach cocktails – put it over a show stopper of a swimsuit like this Alexandra Miro beauty and see them in a whole new (sun)light.
